Brooke ~ 7 Weeks Old!

I can't believe Brooke is already 7 weeks old!! Time is going way too fast!! She is a delight to have in our home and we ALL love her very much!! Tyler, Brandon, Kara, and Emily LOVE having her apart of their lives. Emily is even adjusting to Brooke being home. It has taken Emily the longest to adjust having her around--Emily kind of feels like she got replaced as "the baby", but she is slowly adjusting. Here are a few highlights about Brooke.

Brooke LOVES LOVES LOVES to be snuggled!! She has been our first baby that is a true snuggler!! She would definitely rather be held than put down on her own---even when she sleeps. She also still loves to be in the fetal position.

Brooke loves to be swaddled. All of our children have been swaddlers. She loves to be wrapped as tight as possible in her blanket--then she will sleep soundly or just look around the room and be content.

Brooke enjoys her bouncy chair. She wants to be bounced up and down rather than just sitting there with the vibrator going. The kids each take turns bouncing her, Brandon however, loves doing it the most and rarely has to be asked--he usually runs to her when he hears her cry. I love this picture she was just beginning to stretch.

Brooke HATES getting her diaper changed. The second the diaper comes off she screams the entire time I am changing her. I get the diaper put back on and she is happy again.

Brooke loves bath time, as long as she is in the water-getting undressed and dressed is not so pleasant. She enjoys soaking in the warm water. When I get her out, she wants immediately wrapped tightly in her warm, fuzzy towel Grandma Debbie made her and she would snuggle forever. The second I unwrap her to get her dressed-she lets me know she is unhappy!!

Brooke is a great eater and has been since the beginning. She usually eats every 3 to 4 hours. Then if she doesn't burp directly after eating, about 15 to 20 minutes later she will scream, need burped, and then be fine.

Brooke is a pretty good sleeper. I know for a fact she would sleep all night if I would HOLD her--spoiled little girl. She sleeps in a bassinet in our bedroom and usually sleeps 5 to 6 hours at night. We are hoping for improvement soon though!!

Brooke weighs around 9 pounds. She is beginning to smile when you talk to her--it is fun to see her personality develop. She even does the "Thompson Pout" with her bottom lip going down already! Brooke has brought our home LOTS of JOY and we are soooo thankful she is apart of OUR FAMILY!! It is such a delight to watch her learn & grow each day, along with Tyler, Brandon, Kara, and Emily.

She is so cute! I love her towel and that she lets you know she hates getting her diaper changed, what a funny girl! Glad you're all doing well!
