Grandma Debbie has a fun tradition of taking the kids to Build a Bear for their Birthday every year. The kids really enjoy this fun outing and look forward to it yearly. Everyone gets to go and the birthday kid gets a bear and outfit--everyone else gets a new outfit for their bears from years past~so it FUN for EVERYONE!!
We met Grandma Debbie at the Boise Mall this past Saturday at 10:00--right when they opened--hoping for NO lines. There was a small line, nothing compared to what Mike and Jamie waited in the day after Christmas--THANK GOODNESS!! :) The kids were so excited and they loved every minute of it!! I just wore Brooke in the Bjorn and pushed Emily in the stroller--she did pretty good. Emily got a little restless near the end from sitting there, but she survived. This year I even talked Troy into going--which was great for me!! :) The years past, we have gone on a weekday so he has been at work--so he got to go this year!! It really wasn't that busy and crazy so it was nice!
We go to the Mall a few minutes before Grandma Debbie got there so we just waited outside of Build a Bear. I decided to take a few quick pictures of the kids and of course they were happy because they were sitting outside of BUILD A BEAR!! :) They were sitting on the bench and Emily was in her stroller--it was a cute little picture--until Kara spotted something PINK in the glass case nearby!! She quietly just started walking away right in the middle of pictures!! NICE!! Yes, she found a PINK cell phone!! She asked me if I would get that for her!! OH MY!!
Kara picked out a PINK Monkey!! She got her all stuffed perfectly, heart in place, and then off to wash and shower her--then the fun part---dressing her!! She picked out a pink dress with pink slippers!! She is ALL PINK!! Kara then found a pink cell phone she wanted to get her bear and I told her no, she had enough and that we needed to go the computers and name her Monkey. She immediately dropped to the floor and started being herself---oh LOVELY!! Troy went and grabbed her--very irritated and was trying to talk to her--ya right--she wouldn't listen or be quiet!! Troy and I were both ready to walk away from her and act like we didn't know her--HOW EMBARRASSING!!! Oh, the joys of taking kids in public!! Grandma Debbie quietly picked Kara up and took her for a little walk. Troy got the privilege of typing all the Monkey's info.....her name is Pink Monkey! :) He was ready to go at this point! :)
Grandma Debbie and Kara came walking back up to us, Kara, with the biggest smile ever, pushing her Monkey in a PINK STROLLER!! Oh my, you would have thought Grandma Debbie gave her a million dollars--she was as happy as can be!! Thanks Grandma!!:)
Tyler brought his Frog and he chose Iron Man for his outfit. Brandon took his Brown Bear and he chose Batman. We got their bear and frog all washed and showered and then dressed. Tyler and Brandon were tickled!! Brandon knew right away he wanted Batman. Tyler debated between the Iron Man and a Scout Outfit--Iron Man won out!! Overall, Emily was GREAT in the stroller---we were lame and didn't let her out--we didn't really want to chase her. She was pretty patient--there were a couple of times she got a little impatient, but she actually was pretty darn good!
We left Build a Bear about 45 minutes later and everyone was HAPPY and SMILING!! What a FUN tradition Grandma Debbie has started--the kids really do LOVE it and look forward to their trip to Build a Bear!!! When I was buckling her into her car seat after leaving the mall, she said, "Mom, I really had fun--thanks!!" HOW SWEET!! That made even her lovely little fit even seem not so bad!! When we got home we took a few pictures with Brooke and everyone's bears, since she was not in the pictures at Build a Bear--she is about the same size!! :) The boys wanted to put Brooke in the stroller--they thought it was funny she fit!!
Thanks again Grandma Debbie--the kids all had a BLAST!! Kara is absolutely in Love with her Pink Monkey and she has not let this cute PINK stroller out of her sight--yes, she sleeps with it next to her bed!! WE LOVE YOU GRANDMA!! THANK YOU!!!
