Oh Christmas Tree!!

It was lots of fun this year putting up our Christmas Tree--we had LOTS of help!! The kids were great helpers--they had a blast putting it together and decorating it. Tyler, Brandon, & Kara were GREAT little helpers--Emily just ran around and played as we did it and Brooke of course slept. I put Christmas music on while we were doing it and we were just working away and all of a sudden Kara yelled out, "Hey Mom, they are singing about a Christmas Tree likes ours!" She was very impressed. The boys really had a good laugh over her comment. The kids thought it was pretty cool how we actually get to "make" our tree before we decorate it--yes we do the artificial tree route.

Here is the tree at the beginning of the night--the kids were so excited to get the process started!! They ate their dinner as fast as they could so our adventure could begin!!

Here is Emily, thinking she is just as big as everyone else!! Just trying telling her she can't be a big helper like the rest of them!



As you can see, there are many things you can do with the parts of a Christmas Tree before assembling it!


Emily absolutely LOVED being apart of the BIG kid action!! She was a great helper!



Now we were getting serious!!!


Emily liked "fluffy" the branches out and the big kids handed them to me. What a great TEAM we make!


The kids thought it was pretty cool to watch our tree "grow" bigger and bigger!


Couldn't leave Brooke out, she even got to help!!


Getting closer!! The kids got even more excited!! How fun to have a tree right in your living room!?!



TA DA!! Here it is!! Notice the 'small' amount of decorations--with our "little helers" it is easier to just do the bare minimum and stick with the nonbreakable items! We need to invest in some 'fun' ornaments that are not made of glass--we have gone through several of those and figure it is easier to just leave them off this year. Simple is GOOD!!
