Last Post for 2008!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Well this is our New Year's Eve Celebration--we stayed here at home and just hung out together. We popped popcorn and the kids watched Shrek. Pretty low key--the kids were all in bed by 9:45--ya, we are real party animals!! We will be well rested to start the year out tomorrow, unlike the rest of the sleepy world who stays awake ALL night!! Santa has even dropped by already!! Good night and Sleep Tight!!

Too OLD for Naps!!

Brandon told me he was not taking a nap today--he said, "I am too old for naps, I will just watch a movie instead!" I agreed, thinking then he will go to bed earlier. I put on the movie 'Horton Hears a Who' and he watched it for about 30 minutes. I walked into the room and this what I found....

and he's NOT tired!!

He has NOT let these toys out of his sight for the last few days!!

Guess we should have picked a little more exciting movie!!

'Moms' in Training!!

Emily got a baby and purse for Christmas and ever since, she has carried them around everywhere she has gone!! It is quite fun to see her toddle around carrying her baby and purse. Kara & Emily are loving the whole baby and bag idea--they LOVE playing with babies now and wrapping them up with blankets and feeding them. It is fun to see them play with 'girl' toys now and not just pushing trucks and tractors around!!

As I grew up, our family had the tradition that Santa comes back on New Years Eve and leaves a 'family gift.' He is on his way back to the North Pole and he will drop off one last present if we had been good. Troy and I have continued this tradition with our family.

So the kids were sitting around the table eating breakfast and Tyler announced, "Santa is coming back tonight!" Kara got this terrified look on her face and replied, "NO, he is gone!" Tyler and Brandon went on to talk about how excited they were for Santa to come back!! It was then quiet and they continued to eat their breakfast in silence. Kara then announced, "Well, I am NOT sitting on his lap!" Brandon said, "Kara, why don't you like Santa?" She then reassured Brandon that she liked Santa, she just didn't like to sit on his lap! Kara said, "Santa is a NICE GUY, I just don't want to sit on his lap!!" I just sat back and listened and laughed!! Kids are funny!!
